Based on the success of applying Tridosha Principles of Ayurveda in treating CAD patients, RUDVED was invented in December 2005. RUDVED had an ingredient, Allium Sativum, commonly known as Garlic. Certain Religion does not permit consumption of Garlic and as such these people were hesitant to take RUDVED. We have removed the ingredient Allium Sativum from RUDVED and modified the formula by adding more Wellness. In compliance with the FDA requirements, the new modified product has been named as WRUDVED. RUDVED had Nine ingredients and the modified WRUDVED has Ten ingredients. Empty capsules used in WRUDVED are 100% vegetarian of plant origin.

Generally, there is no scientific evidence recorded for the result of Rudved in treating coronary artery disease. The reason is that Ayurveda is not an evidence based science. The ingredients are already in existence since centuries and we have arrived at a formula based on the feedback received in treating CAD patients with Tridosha principles of Ayurved.
Criteria of Medicine selected were irrespective of age, sex etc. Most of patients were studied on OPD level & some of them were studied on Hospital level. |
Criteria of Diagnosis |
Patients were diagnosed on the basis of signs & symptoms of Vataj, Pittaj and Kaphaj described in text. The special case paper was prepared. On the basis of pre & post reports of E.C.G. stress test, Angiography, Stress Thallium (Myocardial Perfusion study), 3.D.C.C.G. Blood reports (Cardiac Profile) etc. - Detailed Clinical history was taken. |
Management of Patients |
All the patients diagnosed were divided into 4 groups in random manner & treated accordingly. The total duration of treatment was 12-18 weeks. The Medicine RUDVED was made available for all centres. While treating the patients, during the first month of treatment we never stopped their Allopathic Medicine to prevent withdrawal symptoms. Allopathy was tapered down gradually and stopped.
Criteria of assessment - The improvement in the patients were assessed on the basis of relief in the signs and symptoms as well as their various pre & post reports such as angiography, 3 D.C.C.G. etc. |

Remarks |
This study was conducted for a period of 12-18 weeks , which may be considered a short period in comparison with the natural history of a disease that was a significant improvement in CAD, specific parameters in all patients who received RUDVED in this short period of time. There were no clinically significant adverse reactions noted with the RUDVED, which suggest excellent safety of RUDVED.
Most of the patients have done diagnostic investigations like angiography, 3DCCG, Stress Test, ECG etc. Treatment was given for 2 to 6 months. Most of the patients were reluctant to undergo post treatment [second time] test because they have been treated fully and not willing to spend money again for the second test. It was proved that blocks from coronary arteries could be successfully treated by use of Tridosh principles of Ayurved.
